Create demo in HLTV

So to record a demo in hltv follow these simple steps:

  • Open hltv.exe 
  • If you have set the server password then type serverpassword password_value .
  • Now to connect depends upon whether you are connecting to 1)local game server or 2)local hlds server or 3)a remote server.
  • Each of these is explained below
  1. To connect to local game server type connect 127.0.0.1:27015 .
  2. To connect to local hlds server type connect 127.0.0.1:27016(assuming hlds port number is 27016).
  3. To connect to a remote server type connect ipaddress:port number.
  • After you are connected type record demo_name (where demo_name is the name of the demo) this initializes the recording.
  • Type  stop to stop recording the hltv demo, thats it demo has been created.
To view the demo just open the game counter strike 1.6 and type viewdemo demo_name .
